Welcome to the latest weekly developer update from the Mosaic Chain team. Every week, we share a transparent look at our progress, challenges, and upcoming initiatives. Below you’ll find a summary of this week’s work, insights into recent issues, and a snapshot of what’s on the horizon.
What We Worked On This Week (July 14 – 18)
Devnet Stability Improvements
One of our top priorities this week was addressing an unexpected halt in the Devnet. This issue was traced back to an undocumented behavior within the Substrate codebase. Thanks to coordinated efforts with the Paseo team, we quickly identified and deployed a fix, which began rolling out today. While this disruption affected a segment of the development team, core feature development proceeded as planned.
Update Process Enhancements
We resolved a bug that caused the update process to break for some users, ensuring smoother and more reliable upgrades for everyone moving forward.
Validator OS Installer Bugfix
A number of users experienced issues with the Validator OS installer freezing during installation.
Staking Interface Development
The Staking platform remains a central development focus. This week, our team continued producing the interface.
Expanded Indexer Testing
To ensure greater reliability and consistency across the network, we introduced additional automated tests for the Indexer component.
Plans for Next Week (July 21 – 25)
Email Notification System for Validators
We’re designing a new feature that will enable validators to subscribe to email alerts in the event their node enters a Chilled state. This should improve operational awareness and enable faster response times for network participants.
Ongoing Staking Interface Improvements
Further enhancements to the Staking interface are planned.
Reducing Chain Storage Requirements
As part of our ongoing efforts to optimize network performance and lower operational barriers, we’ll continue working to reduce the core chain’s storage footprint.
Current Status & Forward Look
By collaborating with external teams and moving rapidly, we minimized devnet downtime and are already pushing ahead with our regular workflow. Key development areas, such as Staking improvements, have remained on track throughout.
Once the Devnet is fully stable, Mainnet development will continue at our standard pace. We expect no significant delays to broader roadmap objectives.
We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we work behind the scenes to make the Mosaic Chain ecosystem even stronger and more resilient.
Thank you for following our progress.
