As part of our weekly transparency and development updates, we’re sharing the latest progress from the Mosaic Chain development team. This week marked steady progress across multiple fronts, including devnet testing, system administration, and mainnet preparation.
Highlights from This Week (April 7–11, 2025)
Successful Devnet Onboarding Test
We ran a full test of the devnet onboarding process—and we’re happy to report it was completed successfully.
New System Administrator Onboarded
Our newest team member in system administration received their first tasks, focusing on VPN network optimizations and essential security updates.
Mainnet Requirement Planning
We’ve begun compiling a comprehensive list of everything required for the mainnet launch. This list—along with the current status of each item—will be shared publicly soon to provide full transparency.
Warp Sync Evaluation Underway
We’ve identified several potential solutions to address the ongoing warp sync issue. Although none of the options are perfect, we are evaluating each one carefully to choose the best path forward.
Next Week’s Priorities (April 14–17)
Bug Fixes from Devnet Testing: We found several minor bugs during onboarding tests that we’ll address in the coming days.
Substrate-Based Bug: One more complex issue was identified, rooted in Substrate itself, and we’re working on a solution.
UI Task Backlog: We will continue work on lower-priority UI tasks that were previously postponed.
Detailed Roadmap to Mainnet: A comprehensive roadmap covering the remaining steps to mainnet will be compiled.
VPN Optimization Completion: The first round of VPN optimization will be finalized and tested.
Manual Finalization: The user manuals and technical documentation are being finalized for release.
Current Status and Outlook
- The Substrate bug remains under investigation, with multiple potential workarounds identified and currently under review.
- The period between devnet onboarding and the mainnet launch was initially intended for devnet testing. However, the time available for this testing is becoming shorter. This testing process is essential to ensure a stable mainnet launch. While we are addressing bug fixes, we are also working towards the mainnet launch. The planned launch date for the mainnet is still NOT at risk.
- While some issues are due to our own development, a larger portion stems from the inherent complexity of the project and the rapidly evolving nature of Substrate and Polkadot’s core codebases.
We thank our community and partners for their ongoing support and patience as we move closer to launch. Stay tuned for next week’s detailed roadmap and further updates.
