As part of our regular transparency and commitment to community updates, here’s what the Mosaic Chain team has been working on this week — and what’s ahead as we push closer to Mainnet.
Progress This Week (March 24–28)
Onboarding Testing on Testnet Completed:
We’ve finalized the onboarding testing process on the testnet. This is a crucial milestone in ensuring a smooth and secure user experience when joining the network.
Indexer & UI Improvements:
Following feedback from our recent showcase, we’ve implemented most of the suggested changes to the indexer and user interface, significantly improving the user journey.
Substrate Updates Finalized
We’ve completed the necessary updates in our codebase to align with the latest Substrate version. Since Substrate is continuously evolving, this is a recurring task to maintain stability and compatibility.
Onboarding Testing on Devnet Underway
We’ve also continued the onboarding testing on the devnet, uncovering valuable insights — more details on this below.
Coming Up Next (March 31 – April 4)
Devnet Onboarding: Continued testing and iteration to resolve the issues discovered during devnet onboarding.
Indexer & UI: Final round of updates based on the showcase feedback.
Chain Development: We will begin actively investigating and working on a Substrate-related bug that affects the Mainnet. Last week, the focus on devnet onboarding delayed this task, but it’s now a top priority.
Current Status & Notes
Devnet = Early Mainnet Testing Ground
The devnet is exposing a set of Substrate integration issues that didn’t arise during the testnet phase. It’s important to note that these fixes are not only for devnet but also serve as direct preparation for the Mainnet, since the two environments are closely aligned. The onboarding process is currently functioning on the testnet, and we will make the devnet accessible as soon as possible. Some of the remaining issues are related to substrate-based challenges, while others have arisen because the devnet is already a parachain connected to Polkadot.
Ongoing Substrate Bug
A specific bug remains unresolved. Unfortunately, we’ve yet to receive a response from the wider Polkadot community regarding our inquiries, but we continue to seek solutions.
Sysadmin Recruitment Update
We’ve extended a job offer to a long-sought system administrator candidate this week — a key addition to our growing infrastructure team.
Mainnet Timeline Unaffected
Despite the challenges, we want to emphasize that the Mainnet launch date is not at risk. In fact, with the devnet onboarding underway, we are actively progressing toward it.
